It's Byrdlett Build Friday again, folks!! In terms of content we've got some new and totally reworked cards, new potions, and a couple of new events, too! We've also made some updates to UI & UX, including more FTUEs and the brand new Potion Lab and Relic Library!! Also... some people will be very happy with Necrobinder's new character select art 😁

Ironclad:

Ironclad:
- Reworked Ashen Strike card: now deals 6 upfront damage, but damage per card in exhaust is reduced to 2(3)
- Reworked Bully card: now deals 4 damage by default and hits 2(3) more times if target is Vulnerable
- Changed CHAAARGE card: no longer makes player lose Block
- Reworked Howl from Beyond card: It is now a skill that causes ALL enemies to lose 20(25) HP
- Buffed Dismantle card: damage increased from 7(10) ➝ 8(12)
- Changed Stoke card: rarity increased from Uncommon -> Rare
- Reworked Taunt card: now applies 2(3) Vulnerable immediately, instead of when you are hit
- Reworked Tear Asunder card:
- “Deal 5 damage. Hits an additional time for each time you lose HP this combat.”
- Deprecated Cleave and Heavy Blade cards
Regent:
- Changed Alignment card: rarity downgraded from Rare -> Uncommon
- Nerfed Black Hole card: damage decreased from 5(7) -> 2(3)
- Nerfed Celestial Might card: cost increased from 3 -> 4 stars
- Buffed Comet card: damage increased from 26(33) -> 33(44)
- Reworked Crescent Spear card: “Deal 6 damage. Deal 2(3) additional damage for each ⭐ you have."
- Changed Falling Star card:
- Damage decreased from 15(20) -> 14(19)
- Reworked Glimmer card:
- "Draw 2(3) cards. Put 2(3) cards from your Hand on top of your Draw Pile."
- Changed Hidden Cache: now draws 1(2) cards
- Nerfed Nebula Field card: cost increased from 1 -> 2
- Changed Perfect Reflection card:
- Costs 1 less star
- Reworked Photon Blade: "Deal 10(13) damage. Discard 1 card. Draw 1 card."
- Buffed Pilebunker card: Energy cost decreased from 2 -> 1
- Changed Starlight Sword card:
- Now Retains by default
- Deprecated Visions of Grandeur and Star Blast cards
Colorless Cards:
- Changed Hand of Greed card: now has the healing tag so it cannot be generated from other effects mid combat
Relics & Potions:
- Changed Heart of Iron potion: gives 6 Metal -> gives 9 Plating
- Changed Mummified Hand relic: rarity increased from Uncommon -> Rare
Ancients:
- Changed Bounty Box relic: HP gain lowered from 15 -> 10
- Nerfed Antlion: HP decreased from 380 -> 333
- Changed Thieving Hopper encounters: Double Thieving Hopper encounter is now a weak encounter and Lone Thieving Hopper encounter has been removed
- Changed Flyconid: now always attacks on turn 1
- Nerfed Hatchling:
- Now only attacks for 8 instead of having multiple attack moves
- Chnaged Leaf Slime: Slimed cards given increased from 2 -> 3 once again
- Changed Magi Knight: move AI reworked
- Changed Ovicopter: Furious Scratches attack changed from 2x4 -> 4x2 (so it scales less with Strength)
- Changed Spiny Toad: no longer gives status cards but applies Weak with its tongue
- Nerfed Tough Egg: HP lowered from 26-34 -> 23-29
- Updated star icon in text
- Updated Ironclad character select art
- Updated Necrobinder character select art
- Updated Brainbug, Byrdonis Egg, Telepathic Spiders, and Wellspring event art
- Added Potion Lab and Relic Library
- Added Jitter text tag
- Volume sliders are now exponential and set to 75 percent by default to compensate
- You now kill Roaches immediately when using the win command
- Player’s total playtime and win rates are now saved on a per character basis
- Added hovertips to card previews when choosing a card to enchant from your deck
- Card choice from Discovery and attack/skill/power/colorless potions can now be skipped
- Cards no longer look unplayable when picking card for Decisions, Decisions… card
- Creatures are now positioned relative to the center of the room, rather than the edges, which should help with ultrawide resolutions
- Impatience card now glows gold when you have no attacks in hand.
- Map drawing and click/drag scrolling are no longer blocked by map nodes
- Relics now animate in when you obtain them
- Added a reset tutorials button in the options screen
- Abandoning Run now brings up a confirmation popup
- Added FTUE for obtaining relics, obtaining potions, the Merchant, shuffling, “You still have cards to play,” and Power cards
- Added an arrow and updated wording for Cannot Play Card FTUE
- You can no longer click on potions during game over
- Cards that cannot be generated correctly are blocked from Decree of Entropy and Chrysalis
- Used relics are desaturated
- Debuffs no longer flash if they are just decrementing
- “Hand is Full” tip no longer appears if you have no more cards you can draw
- Fast mode opens the reward screen in 0.5 post-combat, ignoring enemy death animations
- Happy Flower relic no longer flashes outside of combat
- Instant mode is now a hidden feature
- Removed Neow choice text in game over
- Show tip if a player attempts to proceed without claiming all rewards
- The peek button is now available on "Select 1 of 3 cards" screens, generic card grid selection screens, when choosing card bundles during combat, and when choosing cards from your deck during combat (though this happens very rarely)
- Updated main menu UX to have locked options (instead of placeholder blockers)
- When a creature has block, a blue outline now appears around its health bar
- Updated VFX timings, font, blend style, tweens, and positions for when a power wears off
- Burrowed power hovertip now mentions that it can be stunned
- Fixed Steam Barrier card description spacing issue
Ironclad:
- Bully card now glows gold when there is at least 1 enemy Vulnerable
Silent:
- Shadowmeld card now affects block gain from After Image power
Defect:
- Compile Driver card now correctly deals 7(10) damage
Necrobinder:
- Regen is no longer proc’d on Osty if he is dead
- Targeting reticle is no longer shown when targeting an attack on Osty
- Got rid of Doom and Energy hovertips for For My Own Good card
Regent:
- Decree of Entropy should replace transformed cards in the right order
- Royal Corona card no longer softlocks if there are no cards in hand
- Solar Flare card now decreases star cards correctly on repeated plays
Colorless Cards:
- Byrd Swoop card now has the correct frame color (colorless)
Relics & Potions:
- Potion and relic FTUEs no longer crash when resuming a run with reset FTUEs
- Abandon Run is no longer blocked by Fairy in a Bottle/Lizard Tail
- Fixed Collector's Deckbox relic typo in description
- Pen Nib now always applies after all other damage modifications
Ancients:
- Brightest Light card upgrade preview no longer affects actual card value
- Calling Bell relic in Hoarder now has a tooltip for Curse
- Neow’s Hunger relic now remains used when reloading save after its effect was used
Enemies:
- Antlion and Giant Louse now correctly factor strength and strength loss into their attack strength
- Ceremonial Beast’s Plow is now affected by negative Strength
- Dampen power no longer cancels out Hex
- Fixed softlock when Hex is applied to Osty by Spectral Knight
- Fixed High Voltage power typo in description
- Giant Louse no longer inflicts wrong amount of multi-hit damage
- Magi Knight no longer incorrectly shows the affliction intent for its 15 damage ram move
- Removed grey bar at bottom of Slumber Party combat
- Strength now works correctly with Axebot
Events:
- Self Help Book event third option now shows the correct description
Misc:
- Card values are now updated on cards that are being dragged or queued up for play.
- Time is now correctly saved and displayed in Run History (for new runs going forward)
- Deprecated cards with enchantments now display correctly in Run History
- Deprecated cards can no longer be obtained through transforming a Curse
- Elites and Rest Sites now appear on the 5th or higher room
- Fixed screenshake intensity affecting duration (though it’s not configurable at this time)
- Fixed softlock when trying to transform an unremovable card.
- Increased room scale no longer offsets intent positions for spawned creatures mid-combat
- Lightning orb sparks no longer render over map
- Shop items are no longer selected if you release mouse while not hovering over it
- Rewards screen now waits for enemy death animations again
- Run History now accurately shows how much damage you took in a fight (regardless of if you healed)
- Run History correctly reflects won runs again (old runs will remain incorrect)
- Run History no longer viewable if you haven't done any runs
- Run History rooms should no longer be off by one after Act 1 (this may break some older run histories)
- The "Dead" text on a killed creature's health bar is no longer tinted purple
- The Abandon and Save run buttons no longer leak memory
- The game no longer waits until the beginning of the player's turn to finish combat, which fixes Book of Five Rings flashing right after Poison kills the last enemy
- Victory and Abandon quotes no longer change between views of a run's history
- Fixed a memory leak that occurred between runs
- Improved FPS by preloading new assets
