Key Mechanics

Doom Execution System

Doom is a stacking purple debuff applied to enemies. When an enemy's remaining HP falls below their current Doom total, they are instantly executed. CRITICAL: execution happens at the end of the enemy's turn — you must survive their final attack. Example: Enemy at 30 HP with 31 Doom → dies at end of their next turn. Always pair Doom with defense. No Escape scales infinitely: each cast applies 10 + 5 per 10 existing Doom stacks.

Osty Companion

Osty is a skeletal hand that starts each fight beside you. Summon X raises Osty's Max HP by X. Die for You: Osty absorbs ALL unblocked attack damage from one hit — essentially a free shield. Bound Phylactery (starter relic) gives Summon 1 at turn start passively. Invest in Osty early — a high-HP Osty can absorb boss hits that would otherwise kill you.

Soul Cards

Soul cards are zero-cost colorless cards that draw 2 cards when played. They are generated by specific cards (not found as rewards) and added directly to your deck. The Soul Engine archetype revolves around generating enough Souls to cycle your entire deck each turn, converting draw into damage via Haunt.

Graveyard Recycling

Necrobinder can retrieve Exhausted cards from the Graveyard (exhaust pile) for replay. High-impact spells can be looped with the right relics. This enables Exhaust Loop — thin your deck to 5-10 cards, cycle everything, and fire your best cards every single turn.

Beginner Tips

  • Start with Doom. It has the widest unlocked card pool and most forgiving learning curve.
  • Pick up Scythe early and use it every fight. Permanently gains damage each use — can hit 100+ by Act 3.
  • Defense is mandatory in Doom builds. Doom kills at end of enemy's turn. You have to eat one more hit. Negative Pulse does both jobs (Doom + Block) in one card.
  • Don't pursue minion swarm without finding Necromancer's Crown boss relic first.
  • Avoid Ethereal cards unless you have a reliable hand-size plan — they vanish if unplayed.
  • Slow down. Know what is left in your deck before committing a turn. Necrobinder has the most decision points of any character.

Build Archetypes

Doom Execution

Stack Doom fast via Death's Door + Countdown + Deathbringer. Use Time's Up as finisher or let thresholds auto-execute. No Escape scales infinitely with itself. Borrowed Time gives free energy scaling. Must pair with defense — Negative Pulse does both jobs (Doom + Block) in one card. Doom kills at end of the enemy's turn — you eat one more hit every time.

Osty Tank/Beatdown

Invest heavy in Summon X cards to grow Osty's HP pool. Use Squeeze + Flatten combo as primary damage. Reanimate (+20 HP) is excellent. Bone Flute relic gives Block whenever Osty attacks. Glass cannon — needs defensive support.

Soul Engine

Generate zero-cost Soul cards (draw 2 each) to cycle the deck every turn. Haunt converts Soul plays into damage. Devour Life and Reave generate Souls without Exhausting for infinite scaling. Keep the Soul deck lean — Quest Cards clog the engine.

Exhaust Loop

Thin deck to 5-10 cards via Dark Pact and exhaust effects, cycling the whole deck each turn. Dead Branch relic (generates a random card per exhaust) is S-tier for this build.
