Hey playtesters, it's that time again! The Regent has some new cards in the mix and some out of the mix, more relics have been added (including brand new ones as well as some familiar ones), and there are some changes to the Ancient mechanic's flow!

CONTENT

Characters:

Regent:

  • Added Minion Swarm card
- Attack - 1 -Uncommon

- “Deal 5(7) damage. Hits an additional time for ALL other cards containing "Minion”.”

  • Added Monologue card:
- Skill - 0 - Common

- “Whenever you play a card this turn, gain 1(2) Strength this turn.”

Relics & Potions:

  • Added new relics: Collector's Deckbox, Book of Five Rings
  • Implemented relics from StS1: Ancient Tea Set, Potion Belt, White Beast Statue
  • Deprecated Essence of Steel potion
  • Deprecated Thread and Needle relic

Enemies:

  • Added dialogue for Bygone Effigy

Misc:

  • Added boss relic choice to Act 2 and 3 Ancients
  • Deprecated Curse Eater Neow choice
  • Added new Neow choice:
- Hoarder: “Obtain 2 random common relics”
  • Added Neow's Hunger relic: “The next Elite you fight has 1 HP.”
  • Number of rooms per act now decreases by 1 every act
BALANCE

Characters:

Necrobinder:

  • Reworked Fearmonger card: “Whenever YOU attack an enemy with Doom, Osty gains 6(9) Block.”
  • Reworked Flatten card:
- “Osty deals 30(40) damage to ALL enemies.”

- Upgrade no longer reduces cost

  • Buffed Melancholy card: Doom application increased from 2(3) -> 3(4)
  • Changed One Inch Punch card: No longer Exhausts

Regent:

  • Changed Gamma Beam card:
- Cost is now 0

- Damage decreased from 8(12) -> 5(7)

- Cards drawn increased -> 1(2)

- Energy gain removed

  • Changed Astral Pulse card:
- Cost increased from 1 -> 2

- No longer Exhausts

  • Reworked Black Hole card: Now deals 5(7) damage to all enemies when a star is gained
  • Changed Decree of Stasis card:
- Type changed from Power -> Skill

- Rarity is now Rare

- Cost is now 1(0)

- Now only retains hand for one turn

  • Changed Glimmer card:
- Cost reduced from 2(1) -> 1

- Upgrade now increases card draw by 1

  • Changed Gravity Well card: Now grants 6(8) Block for every 3 stars
  • Changed Know Thy Place card:
- Now applies 1 Weak, 1 Vulnerable, and Exhausts

- Upgrading removes Exhaust

  • Reworked Pull card: Now gains 5(7) Block for each star gained this turn
  • Reworked Radiate card: Now deals 3(4) damage to all enemies for each star gained this turn
  • Reworked Kingly Kick card: Now costs 4 stars and deals 8(12) damage for each star gained this turn
  • Reworked Celestial Might card: Now deals 22(27) damage to all enemies
  • Reworked Rant and Rave card: Now deals 5(7) damage for every star spent this turn
  • Reworked Royal Corona card: “Whenever you are attacked, applies 1(2) Weak back.”
  • Reworked Supermassive card: Now gains 1 strength for every 3(2) stars gained this turn
  • Deprecated Inevitability, Decree of Unmaking, Pity, and Warp Space cards

Enemies:

  • Changed Axe Raider:
- No longer starts with Metallicize and Block

- Now does two swings before its big swing

- Swing damage increased from 4 -> 5, and it now gains 5 Block

  • Nerfed Chomper: Screech no longer adds Dazed cards to the draw pile

Relics & Potions:

  • Juzu Bracelet is now a shop relic

Misc:

  • Act 3 and Act 2 have 2 and 1 weak encounter respectively, down from 3 each
  • Neow's Apothecary choice now grants the Potion Belt and White Beast Statue instead of the potion charm
  • Changed Vlad's Drain choice:
- Now enchants random cards with Drain

- Cards with Drain on them can no longer be removed

- Starter cards can now be enchanted with Drain

ART
  • Added custom heal VFX for Necrobinder
  • Updated art for A Buried Seed, Perilous Prospects, and Tea Master events
  • Updated Glory combat background art
USER INTERFACE & EXPERIENCE
  • In your Run History, the thing that killed you is now gold colored
  • Replaced fog and cloud assets with smaller texture particle effects
  • Added wiggle shader and masks to water portions
  • Added various lighting effects
  • Acts now open with a map room
  • Health bar visuals have been tweaked
  • Added a delay and fade for enemy HP bars when they die
  • Allow the player to hide the HP value on the HP bar if you hover over it + position and color tweaks
  • Added character pronouns + randomized Abandon and Victory messages for run history
  • Increased star cost numbers, contrast, outline info, and increased size of star energy in combat UI
  • Prompts in selection screens now support text effects + update several prompt screen text wording
  • The Orrery relic now uses the Card Rewards screen to offer its cards
  • Added custom card title outline colors based on card banner color
  • Updated card outline colors + shadow + custom outline when out of energy
  • Updated card title outline and shadow properties a bit
  • Updated selection reticle for combat reward screen buttons
  • Updated some card banner and frame colors
WORDING
  • Added new line in Binding Chains card’s description
  • Renamed Afflictor intent to Malicious
  • Stunned intent was made more clear
  • Made Ice Cream relic clearer
  • Corrected the description of the Decemillipede's reattach power
  • When a card is afflicted with Parasite, its description now reads "Take X damage." instead of "Parasite X."
BUG FIXES

Characters:

Ironclad:

  • When killing the final enemy in a combat, the Corrupted enchantment's 3 HP loss effect now properly triggers before Burning Blood's heal effect

Silent:

  • Concentrate card upgrade preview highlights green now instead of red
  • Corpse Explosion card now stacks properly
  • Well Laid Plans card no longer prompts you if your hand is empty
  • Well Laid Plans card now disallows selecting cards already expected to be retained

Defect:

  • Orb animations no longer stutter

Necrobinder:

  • Empower card now has correct hovertips
  • Fixed description typos for Sap Will card
  • Fixed punctuation on Putrefy description
  • Loyalty card can now gain Nimble enchantment
  • Poison and Doom health bar overlays now show even when the creature only has 1 Poison/Doom
  • Poke card no longer upgrades if you mash the upgrade preview
  • Updated Melancholy card description to include Doom not applied by cards

Relics & Potions:

  • Fixed bug with Ancient Tea Set saving between runs
  • Fixed Centennial Puzzle softlock on damage outside of combat
  • Fixed softlock from Lizard Tail relic

Enemies:

  • Fixed softlock if Queen kills the Torchead Amalgam

Events:

  • Can no longer trade in Wax Choker in Relic Trader event
  • Fixed capitalization in Self Help Book event options

Misc:

  • Can no longer get dupe events between acts
  • Card pile text is now much larger
  • Card text now scales down if it's too big
  • Correct number of cards now displayed at top-right after multiple simultaneous transformations
  • Decemillipede should now never be able to act while it's untargetable
  • End turn banner no longer appears before well laid plans power retain selection
  • Fixed bug where only 25 cards could be viewed when checking card piles.
  • Fixed handcramp when card you are dragging gets exhausted (by Pael’s Essence)
  • Fixed issue with upgrading Brightest Day card while it has Corruption
  • Updated gold gained from rewards: Monster: 10-20, Elites: 45-55, Boss: 100, Treasure: 40-60
  • Proceed button no longer animates every time you collect a reward
  • Sacrifice and skip buttons in card reward screens no longer both glow when you hover over only one of them
  • Updated Plating description to match new behavior
