Happy friday playtesters ! I was in Sweden last week so I ~~couldn't make a build~~ was too lazy to write patch notes*.

Highlights include: Big changes to Decemillipede boss, the start of combat VFX, and metrics. We'll be spying on you and how well you do so we want data. Give us the data! Try your best! We aren't gathering personally identifying data.

Just as important as game balance is the general vibe, feedback on those areas are appreciated. No need to have a degree to complain that the Ironclad's biceps aren't beefy enough. 💪

  • Added new room icons for run history
  • Animations for Orb Plant enemy
  • Animations for Twig Slime enemy
  • Character seleect portraits get some fixes
  • Creation of a Bite vfx
  • Creation of a Flame Impact vfx
  • Implemented gold burst vfx

  • Made the gammaAlpha shader default for spine generation
  • The boss icon on the map is now animated
  • Tweaked grande finale petal speed

UI and Wording
  • "The not enough Energy?" tutorial no longer hides the Energy Orb UI
  • Debuffs now have red hovertips
  • Gold tint added to Feathers particles
  • Hovering buffs and debuffs on creatures show the hovertip for that power
  • Lower Ceremonial Beast's health bar (its position, not hp lol)
  • Raise some Ruby Raiders' health bars
  • Rename Coupon Book relic to Neow's Note
  • Rename Doctor's Note relic to Potion Charm
  • Rename Froggy Wallet relic to Undulating Mass
  • Rename Orb of Attraction event/relic to Bedlam Beacon
  • Rename Rusted Blade relic to Sword of Stone
  • Rename Stone Blade Awoken relic to Sword of Jade
  • Spread out Ruby Raiders in combat a bit more
  • Switched regular debuff intent to use the mega debuff icon
  • Updated speech bubble timing for "I can't play this card."
  • When Artifact negates a debuff, there's some text so it's more clear
Bug Fixes
  • Boss nodes only show stroke on map on hover
  • Don't highlight X-cost card energy costs in green
  • Entomancer tooltip no longer renders offscreen
  • Fix certain actions taking longer as you play
  • Fix softlock if you resume a run to a Map Screen (progressing to new Act)
  • Fixed card tweens when game speed is instant
  • Fixed layering errors when hovering a card at end of turn
  • Fixed the transparency on osty's edge glow
  • Jack of All Trades card can no longer spawn itself
  • Make attacks redirected to Osty show VFX on Osty instead of Necrobinder
  • Map close sfx no longer plays on room transition
  • Molten egg no longer breaks astrolabe by trying to upgrade cards twice
  • Neow card pack starter no longer shows any hovertips when looking at the pack
  • On death, healthbar now says Dead without going back to 0
  • Osty blocks admage taken in event rooms
  • Pen Nib no longer affects card choice previews
  • Position marker correctly positions itself in boss rooms
  • Potential fix for softlock during Act transition
  • Prevent auto-discarded cards from being quickly played before resolving
  • Run history skips over first room of each act (usually a map room)
  • Sentry Mode no longer procs if osty is dead
  • Territorial power no longer flashes on player character when proccd
  • Unceasing Top no longer flashes at the beginning and end of combat
Gameplay and Content
  • Added tracking total playtime, total winrate, and buildType to RunMetrics
  • Changes to Decemillipede boss (no spoilers)
  • Implemented Flail Knight encounter
  • Tweak to orb plant
Audio
  • Added sfx to card screens, potions, gold, and events
  • Added unhover/click sounds to menu buttons
